Whenever there are two or more people working together,
communication issues will arise. This is normal, and it's
the healthy company or organization that addresses these
bumps in the road before they become potholes. The emphasis
in my work is on customized, practical skills building,
problem-solving strategies and content-rich sessions. When
communication is specifically aligned with the "big picture"
intent or the mission of your organization, turf issues,
separation and politics are reduced and cooperation, unity
and teamwork are strengthened.
How do I know what to address with each group? Consulting
begins with an information-gathering interview with one or
more representatives of your organization (usually the CEO
and/or HR Director) in order to customize sessions or
workshops to fit the needs of your organization. This
initial session is usually followed by a session in which
specific dynamics and needs are discussed in more detail
with one or both of the above representatives. If agreeable
with the organization, a pre-workshop survey is designed and
electronically administered to those who will be attending
the culminating workshop (for my review before designing the
workshop). After the workshop, there is usually a follow-up
session with participants in how the techniques are working,
including Q & A.
